Pearlie + Matias | London, UK | Partners in the same pattern

Sometimes a job comes along and you know it was suited to your style of work: historical location, strong emotions, a blend of cultures and languages and a couple who were not only so obviously deeply in love, but a pair of very cool cucumbers.  Pearlie and Matias' attention to detail, in their choice of outfits, locations and wedding design made it very easy for me to create one of my favourite pieces of work to date. The couple choose the beautiful Museum of the Order of St John for their ceremony, which is a beautiful 16th Century Gatehouse hidden away in Clerkenwell, London. As soon as I saw photos from inside the building I knew I wanted to shoot there!Pearlie got ready with her bridesmaids at the nearby Zetter Townhouse, which is a stylish boutique hotel, perfectly suited to the couple. The relaxed environment during the morning preparations allowed me to capture some great shots.Their reception venue was the nearby at St John's Restaurant, which was an obvious choice for a couple into fine dining! The whole day was filled with emotion, from Pearlie's father seeing his daughter in her dress for the first time, through the emotional personal vows (in Spanish and English), a tearful Tea Ceremony and a dramatic Argentinian Tango, which the couple stunned their guests with before the party began. I knew this dance was a big part of the day and something they had been practising for some time, so I felt it should be a key component of their film- not only does it feature heavily, it also influenced the choice of music I used as a soundtrack for their film. One of the beautiful readings during the ceremony included the line: "We insist on permanency, on duration, on continuity; when the only continuity possible, in life as in love, is in growth, in fluidity - in freedom, in the sense that the dancers are free, barely touching as they pass, but partners in the same pattern."  This line was a perfect bridge into the evening dancing, which takes the film to it's end.The day wouldn't have been possible without some great suppliers, some of which are detailed below:
