Hollie + James | Piccadilly Circus, London
Hollie contacted me earlier in the year to let me know a little about the day her and James had planned and I was sold as soon as I read "Piccadilly Circus" and "grade I listed deconsecrated church" as I knew these locations would fit my style of wedding videography perfectly. The couple are also both actors, so I knew they would be relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera, which always makes life a little easier. As well as the venues being a perfect setting for a London wedding, the couple and their friends were a stylish bunch, which meant wherever I pointed my camera I was getting great footage. After bridal preperations at the very cool Sea Containers hotel, we headed to St James' Church in Picadilly, just off the Circus, which is a beautiful Christopher Wren-designed building inside and out, for the couples ceremony. They chose a great choir to sing during the ceremony, a little snippet of which opens the film. After the ceremony the couple and their guests boarded a pair of Routemaster buses to the reception venue- it's always a joy shooting journeys through the city on a Routemaster as it's about as 'London' as you can get! The reception venue was St Stephen’s Rosslyn Hill, a stunning deconsecrated church, which provided a stunning backdrop to James' heartfelt speech to Hollie, as well as the couples first dance. The photographer and I also found a patch of stained-glass enfused light in one corner of the venue (actually where the food was being prepared!) which we knew we had to get the couple in, the light spilling across their faces, and it's these shots that can be found at the end of the film- a beaufiul coda to a perfect London wedding.
